Pre-sweep areas
The scrubbing ability of our machines is impressive but it is important to prepare the floor prior to using a scrubber dryer. If your machine runs over debris you may find that the squeegee becomes blocked and damage, resulting in poor cleaning performance.
If you are making an attempt to wash and dry an area that has pieces of debris present, we advise using an industrial sweeper first to ensure you don’t damage your scrubber dryer.
Store your warehouse floor cleaning machine correctly
As the owner of an industrial floor scrubber or sweeper, it is essential to know how to store your machine correctly. It is extremely important to ensure storage of such machinery is indoors because rain or extreme weather conditions could cause damage that is irreversible.
You should also always ensure that the inside storage is dry, clean, and not too cold. If you have a large business or facility with multiple industrial cleaning machines to store, take care not to overcrowd them in storage because machines that are packed together tightly can become damaged, dented, and scratched which can hinder performance and be a costly fix.
Check the battery
If you choose a battery-powered machine from the SRS fleet, you must be diligent with monitoring its performance. You can do this by inspecting the battery every week. If you have lead acid batteries fitted you will need to check and top up the plates with distilled water. Alternatively, if you opt to have gel batteries fitted these are completely maintenance free!
Clean your warehouse floor cleaning machine regularly
Keeping your floor sweeper or scrubber dryer clean is perhaps the most obvious way to maintain the machine and prolong its life.
To ensure a scrubber dryer stays in good working condition ensure the recovery tanks are flushed out with clean water and the squeegee is wiped clean. For sweepers always shake the dust filters after use and leave the collection bins empty. Similar to a vacuum, the collection area becomes filled with dust, debris, and dirt and if not regularly emptied, will result in poorer performance and possible blockages.
