Do you own an industrial cleaning machine that you use to keep your factory or warehouse clean? Need to know the best ways to maintain your battery-powered industrial ride-on floor scrubber or sweeper? At SRS Cleaning Equipment, we are full of the best knowledge on how to keep your ride-on cleaning equipment in the best condition possible; ready for scrubbing, washing, and drying your floors perfectly every time.
Regular preventative service maintenance is always recommended for your industrial cleaning machine, however there are quite a few useful and simple ways to ensure your equipment is always delivering flawless cleaning results.
Charge the batteries
It is usually recommended, once the battery of your ride-on scrubber or sweeper has been fully discharged, to recharge the batteries in a well-ventilated area overnight.
To ensure the best lifespan of your battery, we strongly suggest that you avoid using your cleaning equipment for short periods of time and then recharging for short periods of time. It is best to let the equipment run its battery all the way through until the end and then fully recharge ready for its next use.
Clean the recovery tank
Each and every time you’ve finished cleaning, it’s important to make sure that you empty the dirty water tank. Afterwards, to clean any residues and avoid a build-up of slimy water occurring, always leave the drain hose open on the floor and be sure to flush clean water into the tank to prevent any blockages.
Ensure the solution filter is always clean
You’ll find that your ride-on floor scrubber or sweeper has a solution filter; the point of this is to avoid any debris making its way through the pipework and blocking it up. Simply remove the solution filter and flush it out under the tap to ensure it is as clean as possible.
Maintain the squeegee blades
Squeegees that are maintained well help deliver cleaner, dryer, and ultimately safer floors. Be sure to remove build-up from the front end of the squeegee blades with a damp cloth or a hose if you prefer – just something that will remove the build-up entirely. Once you’ve done this, it’s then important to inspect the squeegee blades to make sure there is no excessive wear or tear to the rubber.
