At the end of a long week, the last thing you probably want to do is give your workplace a thorough clean, but it’s something you need to do to keep your workspace safe, healthy, and accident-free. However, with cleaning myths always littering our minds, sometimes it can be difficult to know where to start and which warehouse floor cleaning machine is the best!
We’re here to get rid of all the myths, so you can spend less time contemplating your cleaning methods, and more time keeping your workforce safe! Here is a list of a few cleaning myths surrounding factory and office cleaning:
Myth: Any warehouse floor cleaning machine will do!
Myth: Industrial or factory scrubbers and sweepers are all the same and do all the same jobs. They are the answer for any surface that needs cleaning.
Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. There are a number of factors that need to be considered when selecting the best floor cleaning machine for your workspace, such as the type of surface being cleaned. The 800E walk-behind machine would be ideal for sweeping dust and debris from a dusty concrete warehouse floor but if there was a build-up of tyre/rubber marks and general grime then a scrubber dryer such as the NSS Champ ZS29 small ride-on model would be the best option
The good news is that we have machines that are specially designed for specific jobs and different environments. Even though they all look similar, we don’t expect you to sit and read every machine’s description which is why we go into great detail for you when discussing the floor cleaning machines – so we make sure that you receive the cleaning machine that will best benefit you and meet your cleaning needs. Or, if you want more proof that not just any old cleaner will do when it comes to workplace cleaning, make sure to book in for a free demonstration on the machine of your interest and we can show you in the flesh.
Myth: All machines are used the same way!
Myth: Each cleaning machine that we provide has its own way of operating. Walk-behind sweepers and scrubbers for example are simple to push and clean machines, which work wonders on quick clean up jobs.
However, the same machines will not do well when put up against built-up grime like our ride on machine can. The amount of the built-up muck, dust and grime will determine which machine would be best to use, how much cleaning solution is required (if any) and if any additional accessories are needed.
For tough jobs in a range of environments, we’d recommend one of the larger machines like the E110 sweeper/scrubber dryer, to ensure an easy ride whenever you want a good clean on your venue’s floor. However, no matter which machine(s) you use, you’ll gather the knowledge overtime to decipher which job requires which cleaning machine.
Myth: Tough job? Use more cleaning solutions!
Myth: More is better?
Not always. It’s important to understand the type of floor you are going to be cleaning on to properly measure the correct amount of cleaning solution you need to be using. When using too many solutions in your scrubber machines, you run the risk of leaving behind sticky or slippy floors, which could result in accidents. Not only that but if you’re using more solutions than you actually need you could simply just be wasting money!
